Gujarat Secures Guinness World Record for Mass Surya Namaskar; PM Modi Applauds the Achievement

In an extraordinary display of unity and well-being, Gujarat has carved its name into the Guinness Book of World Records for orchestrating the largest synchronized Surya Namaskar performance across 108 locations, encompassing 51 diverse categories, on the New Year’s morning. Over 4,000 participants partook in this yogic rendition, underscoring the state’s dedication to health and cultural heritage. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded this exceptional achievement, emphasizing its resonance with India’s dedication to Yoga and cultural legacy.

The milestone event encompassed a diverse array of participants, including families, students, yoga aficionados, and seniors, converging at prominent locations such as the iconic Modhera Sun Temple. Chief Minister Bhupesh Patel and Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi graced the event at Modhera, lauding its historical significance and the revival of Yoga on a global platform.

In his address, PM Modi extolled Gujarat’s accomplishment, recognizing the spiritual and cultural confluence epitomized by the mass Surya Namaskar event. He emphasized the special significance of the number 108 in Indian culture and urged citizens to embrace Surya Namaskar as part of their daily routine, citing its immense benefits.

The Chief Minister expressed elation at the convergence of yoga, spirituality, culture, and health at the Modhera Sun Temple. Underlining the event’s inspiration drawn from PM Modi, Patel highlighted the global recognition accorded to yoga, particularly Sama Yoga, noting its pivotal role in fostering holistic well-being.

Singhvi, echoing the sentiment of pride and accomplishment, emphasized the worldwide acceptance of yoga, acknowledging Gujarat’s pioneering role in setting a new Guinness World Record. The Guinness World Records adjudicator, Swapnil Dangarikar, affirmed the state’s success in establishing the title for the largest Surya Namaskar assembly.
