Lucknow, Dec 25 — On the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled a statue of the late leader at Kudiya Ghat along the banks of the Gomti River in Lucknow. The unveiling ceremony was part of a series of events organized across Uttar Pradesh to commemorate Vajpayee's contributions to the nation. The state government also observed the day as "Good Governance Day."

In a significant boost to India’s border infrastructure, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated 75 infrastructure projects by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on Saturday. These projects, valued at ₹2,236 crore, span across 11 states and union territories, including strategic regions such as Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh.

Speaking at a security conclave held at Jammu University, Singh addressed the internal and external dimensions of the country's defence mechanism, emphasizing the significance of Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) in the discussion.
