“Rajnath Singh Asserts India’s 8.4% Growth Rate Achieved Under Vajpayee’s Leadership”

On the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled a statue of the late leader at Kudiya Ghat along the banks of the Gomti River in Lucknow. The unveiling ceremony was part of a series of events organized across Uttar Pradesh to commemorate Vajpayee’s contributions to the nation. The state government also observed the day as “Good Governance Day.”

Addressing the gathering at Lok Bhawan, Rajnath Singh praised Vajpayee’s leadership for propelling India to new heights. He highlighted that under Vajpayee’s tenure, India achieved a remarkable 8.4% growth rate, a historic achievement that stands out in the country’s post-independence history. Singh emphasized that the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee earned global recognition for its vision and governance.

Transformative Policies and Legacy

Rajnath Singh further recalled Vajpayee’s transformative policies that brought significant changes in several sectors, including infrastructure, telecommunications, and rural development. One of the major initiatives, the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), revolutionized rural connectivity, while the Antyodaya Yojana uplifted the lives of the poor and marginalized. Singh noted that these landmark schemes were a testament to Vajpayee’s focus on inclusive development.

Singh also acknowledged the continuation of Vajpayee’s legacy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that under Modi’s government, over 1,500 outdated laws had been repealed, and India had moved up to the 50th spot in the Ease of Doing Business rankings — a significant leap in the country’s growth trajectory.

Yogi Adityanath on Vajpayee’s Vision for New India

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, speaking at the event, expressed his admiration for Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s contributions to India’s governance. He remarked that Vajpayee had laid a solid foundation for good governance during his tenure, setting a vision for a prosperous and developed nation.

Adityanath emphasized that Vajpayee’s vision was now being realized through the creation of a “new India” that would fulfill the aspirations of the 140 crore people and emerge as a developed nation by 2047 — the centenary of India’s independence.

The statue unveiling and the speeches were part of a broader celebration of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s legacy, as the nation continues to draw inspiration from his leadership and vision.

Enduring Influence of Vajpayee’s Leadership

The event highlighted the enduring influence of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a leader who reshaped India’s governance, focusing on infrastructure development, rural connectivity, and inclusive economic growth. With PM Modi continuing to build on Vajpayee’s legacy, India is positioning itself as a global leader, moving closer to its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
