“IndiGo Faces Second Tail Strike Incident in a Week: Safety Concerns Heighten”

IndiGo Plane Suffers Tail Strike At Ahmedabad Airport, Probe Ordered

Ahmedabad, Gujarat – In a concerning development, an IndiGo flight from Bengaluru experienced a tail strike while landing at Ahmedabad Airport on Thursday, marking the second such incident within a span of five days. The aircraft safely landed, and all passengers onboard were unharmed. However, the airline has ordered a detailed investigation into the matter.

The affected flight, 6E6595, was operating from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad when the tail strike occurred during landing. As a precautionary measure, the aircraft has been declared grounded at Ahmedabad Airport for assessment and necessary repairs. IndiGo has assured that the incident is under investigation by the relevant authorities.

Following the incident, the Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA) took notice and ordered the grounding of the pilots of the aircraft involved in the mishap, as reported by officials. The DGCA’s decision aims to ensure a thorough review of the situation and prevent any potential risks.

This tail strike incident comes just days after another IndiGo flight, 6E-6183, from Kolkata to Delhi, experienced a similar incident during landing at the national capital. During the approach on runway 27, the crew noted an extended float time and initiated a go-around maneuver. Unfortunately, the bottom portion of the tail of the aircraft made contact with the runway, causing damage.

IndiGo promptly grounded the Kolkata-Delhi flight for necessary assessment and repairs. The airline has assured that investigations are ongoing, with relevant authorities involved in determining the cause and implementing corrective measures.

In recent times, IndiGo Airlines has faced a series of incidents that have raised concerns regarding safety and operational procedures. Earlier this month, an IndiGo flight from Amritsar to Ahmedabad accidentally entered Pakistani airspace near Lahore due to adverse weather conditions. The aircraft eventually returned to Indian airspace without any mishap, but the incident highlighted the importance of strict adherence to flight plans and weather monitoring.

As IndiGo continues to investigate and address these incidents, passenger safety remains their topmost priority. The airline is working closely with regulatory authorities and aviation experts to implement necessary improvements and prevent any recurrence of such incidents in the future.

Travelers are advised to stay updated with official announcements and adhere to safety guidelines provided by the airline and aviation authorities. By maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and enhancing training and operational measures, IndiGo aims to restore passenger confidence and ensure a safe and secure travel experience for all.
