Adani Group Pledges Rs 2.3 Lakh Crore Investment in Odisha's Growth and Development

In a major boost to Odisha’s industrial and infrastructure development, the Adani Group has committed an investment of Rs 2.3 lakh crore over the next five years. This pledge was made during the Utkarsh Odisha 2025 investor meeting held on Tuesday, signaling the group’s strong intent to expand its footprint in the state across multiple sectors, including power, cement, industrial parks, aluminium, and city gas projects.

Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited (APSEZ), met with Odisha’s Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to formalize this commitment. The two leaders exchanged Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) as part of the state’s ambitious investment and development initiative.

The Rs 2.3 lakh crore investment is touted as the largest investment intent announced during the Utkarsh Odisha 2025 event, which is aimed at attracting global investors to the state. While specific project details have not yet been disclosed, the areas of focus outlined include power generation, cement manufacturing, the establishment of industrial parks, aluminium production, and expansion of city gas infrastructure.

In addition to this massive investment commitment, the Adani Group also unveiled several key projects during the event. Among the notable milestones was the successful first test flight landing at the Dhamra Airstrip, marking a significant step toward boosting Odisha’s aviation infrastructure.

Furthermore, six major projects from Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL) were commissioned in Odisha. These projects include the launch of an EV charging station at Bhubaneswar airport, the completion of a city gate station and mother station project, and groundbreaking ceremonies for a new LNG and multi-fuel hub at Bhadrak. Other projects include the completion of a CNG station in Balasore and the first-ever domestic piped cooking gas installation in Bhadrak. A CNG station project was also inaugurated in Mayurbhanj district’s Rairangpur.

These initiatives are expected to play a pivotal role in transforming the state’s energy and transportation landscape, providing cleaner alternatives and boosting local economic development. Additionally, the opening of an LNG and multi-fuel hub, along with the commissioning of multiple CNG stations, aligns with the state’s drive toward sustainable energy solutions.

As the Adani Group moves forward with these substantial investments, it is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, support infrastructure development, and contribute to the state’s economic growth. With such a strong commitment to Odisha’s progress, the Adani Group is poised to play a vital role in shaping the state’s industrial future over the next few years.
