On the occasion of Mayaa SH’s latest world record on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose we caught up with leading authoress of contemporary literature to the nation Dr Mayaa SH to discuss some of Netaji’s significant teachings and how they continue to shape Indian society today.

Here are some powerful insights from trailblazing Indians like Mayaa SH, on what Netaji Taught us and her candid interview on her writings and inking great world records :

What are most of your writings aimed at?

By addressing women’s daily challenges and advocating for equal rights, I navigate stress and instill hope through self-help books, especially discussing sensitive issues like suicide prevention. My contemporary prose work highlights onto break so many stereotypes about women and their power of self-belief.

How would you reflect on insights into your podcasts on grammar and mental health awareness?

All writers write and reflect the same from their gut or intuition, so one must always keep energies calm and great so that one is at their highest actualisation of intellect and creativity to share great perspectives based on observation and experience in life .Mental illness is still a taboo in India. Depression and anxiety distress are commonly dismissed as minor annoyances experienced primarily by the ultra-wealthy. Worse still, people with mental illness tend to hide their problems for fear of being condemned and ostracized by a conservative society .This needs to be addressed and spoken about .

What are the themes or subjects do you often aim at in your literary works?

Most of my writings emphasise on breaking stereotypes and echo gender inclusivity. I try to deploy direct storytelling, rooted in culture, deeply resonating and reflecting intimate human dilemmas. Fearless transgression of boundaries and ability to voice the feminine perspective is what I believe is an essential force in contemporary literature.

What is your valuable insight into your world record-breaking achievements and how they shaped your career?

Most of my accolades stem from the inner belief that the word Impossible emulates “I am Possible”.This is inspired by the fact that Women should take active part in decision making at every level and specific domains that they are related to. When women are living safe, fulfilled and productive lives, they can reach the full potential of their talents and intelligence in life.

What according to you are your discussions on mental health aimed at and how positively they impact your listeners and the community?

To achieve the objective of empowering people, youth should be provided with the opportunity to give direction.Successful individuals in leadership are self-aware because they understand what their values, addictions, habits, personality, and habits are and how much these actions affect them. This is possible only by understanding and valuing self growth alongwith good mental health.

What according to you was Netaji’s idea of a secular India ?

Subhash Chandra Bose’s idea of India had people from all communities and in his inclusive vision freedom to follow your faith and pursue your religious identity .Netaji remained dedicated to secularism, social justice and socialism. Subhash Chandra Bose (known also as Netaji) reflected a more socialist approach to India’s independence movement .Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was a fierce nationalist whose patriotism made him into a great freedom fighter. Netaji’s entry into political life gave a new turn to India’s struggle. A new wave of enthusiasm swept the country. His restless and dynamic spirit led him to a path that was different from other freedom fighters. Indian women also played an important role in the activities for the freedom of India. A women’s regiment of Azad Hind Fauj was formed, which was under the command of Captain Lakshmi Swaminathan. It was called the Rani Jhansi regiment. This shows that Netaji was a man of gender equality and he promoted women in involvement in the freedom struggle was important. Faith in our cause and readiness for sacrifice by voluntary total self-mobilisation were insisted by him, makes us understand that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was a man of self-confidence and a man who promoted the potential of self control and discipline.

India today needs to not just salute Netaji’s valiant sacrifice for our nation but more importantly remember his secular socialist idealism as that is the only way out for our progress and strength. His thoughts like “Freedom is Not Given, it is Taken” and “Life loses half its interest if there is no struggle — if there are no risks to be taken” are not just quotes but life lessons. Netaji’s vision and leadership are reasons we enjoy freedom today.Netaji emphasised on building global alliances,Netaji’s strategy wasn’t confined to Indian borders. He reached out to Germany and Japan, rallying support and organizing Indian soldiers abroad to form the INA. His ability to forge these alliances showed his global vision and strategic acumen.
