Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the United States will commence on June 20, marking his first state visit to the country. The visit will kick off in New York, where he will lead the International Day of Yoga celebrations at the United Nations Headquarters on June 21.
Following the Yoga Day event, the Prime Minister will travel to Washington D.C., where he will receive a ceremonial welcome at the White House on June 22. He is scheduled to meet President Joe Biden for further high-level discussions. A State Dinner will be hosted by President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden in honor of Prime Minister Modi on the same evening, highlighting the importance of the visit.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi has also been invited to address a Joint Sitting of the US Congress on June 22, at the invitation of US Congressional Leaders. This will provide an opportunity for him to engage with American lawmakers and strengthen bilateral relations between India and the United States.
On June 23, the Prime Minister will attend a luncheon hosted by US Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. In addition to official engagements, he is scheduled to have curated interactions with leading CEOs, professionals, and other stakeholders, as well as meet members of the Indian community residing in the United States.
