Namma Yatri Introduces 'Zero Commission' Cab Services in Bengaluru

Namma Yatri, a Bengaluru-based mobility app, has rolled out its cab services in the city with a unique ‘zero commission’ model. The company aims to revolutionize the transportation sector by adhering to government-set prices while offering a range of cab options to cater to diverse customer needs.

The newly launched cab services by Namma Yatri include non-AC minis, AC minis, Sedan, and XL cabs. Notably, the addition of non-AC mini cabs is intended to clarify service expectations and pricing, addressing common issues related to AC usage between drivers and passengers. This move is aligned with promoting eco-friendly transportation choices while ensuring affordability for budget-conscious travelers.

In addition to standard services, Namma Yatri’s cabs will accommodate special requests such as disability-friendly rides, extra luggage, transportation of pets, and trips to public transport hubs. The company boasts a fleet of 25,000 cab drivers and aims to onboard at least 1 lakh drivers within the next six months.

Namma Yatri’s entry into the cab services market comes against the backdrop of a growing demand for fair pricing and transparency in the transportation industry. The company has already made significant strides in supporting auto drivers, helping them earn ₹420 crore while attracting a user base of 60 lakh.

The inception of Namma Yatri in 2022 coincided with challenges faced by traditional ride-hailing giants like Ola and Uber, accused of imposing high fees on customers. Namma Yatri’s direct connection between customers and drivers eliminates middlemen, resulting in competitive fares and improved earnings for drivers.

Currently operational in Kochi and Kolkata, Namma Yatri’s expansion into Bengaluru signifies a strategic move to tap into a dynamic market while offering reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions to residents and visitors alike.
