According to a report by Informa Connect Academy, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, may become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027. With a current net worth of $237 billion, Musk would need to grow his wealth at an annual rate of 110% to achieve trillionaire status within the next few years.
Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, could follow suit in 2028. Ranked 13th on the global billionaire index with just under $100 billion in wealth, Adani’s conglomerate, which spans sectors like ports and power, has been growing at an impressive annual rate of 123%. If this trajectory continues, he could become the second individual to reach a trillion-dollar net worth.
Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, head of Reliance Industries, is projected to join the trillionaire club in 2033. His oil-to-telecom giant is forecasted to achieve a trillion-dollar market capitalization by 2035, making Reliance the only Indian company expected to reach that milestone. Ambani’s current net worth stands at $111 billion.
In addition to these figures, other business leaders such as Nvidia founder Jensen Huang, Indonesian mogul Prajogo Pangestu, and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg are also predicted to eventually reach trillionaire status.
Several companies have already crossed the trillion-dollar mark, including tech giants like Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, Alphabet, and Meta. The latest to join the $1 trillion club is Berkshire Hathaway, led by Warren Buffett. Nvidia, which hit a $3 trillion valuation in June 2023, is currently the second most valuable company in the world, surpassed only by Microsoft.
