Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly acquired a plot in The Sarayu, a seven-star enclave in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, just ahead of the grand consecration ceremony of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple scheduled for January 22. The property, developed by Mumbai-based firm The House of Abhinandan Lodha, is spread over 51 acres and is poised to become a symbol of Ayodhya’s global spiritual significance.
While the developer, HoABL, did not disclose the specific size and value of Bachchan’s plot, industry insiders estimate it to be around 10,000 sqft with a reported cost of ₹14.5 crore, according to Hindustan Times. The Sarayu, strategically located about 15 minutes from the temple and half an hour from the airport, is set to feature a five-star palace hotel and is slated for completion by March 2028.
Amitabh Bachchan expressed his anticipation for this venture with HoABL during an event, stating, “I am looking forward to embark on this journey with The House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu in Ayodhya, a city that holds a special place in my heart. The timeless spirituality and cultural richness of Ayodhya have forged an emotional connection that transcends geographical boundaries.”
“This is a start of a heartfelt journey into the soul of Ayodhya, where tradition and modernity seamlessly co-exist, creating an emotional tapestry that resonates with me deeply. I am looking forward to building my home in the global spiritual capital,” added the veteran actor.
Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman of HoABL, hailed Bachchan as the “first citizen” of The Sarayu, emphasizing that the actor’s investment symbolizes confidence in Ayodhya’s economic potential and a deep appreciation for its spiritual heritage. The project, now elevated by Bachchan’s involvement, is expected to amplify Ayodhya’s global prominence as a spiritual and cultural hub.
