The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed two significant contracts worth ₹2,867 crore to bolster the Indian Navy’s underwater warfare capabilities. The agreements focus on retrofitting Kalvari-class submarines with Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) systems to increase their endurance and integrating electronic heavy-weight torpedoes (EHWT) to enhance their firepower.
