In response to the devastating impact of recent heavy rainfall in Delhi, the state government has announced a compensation package of ₹10 lakhs for the families of those who lost their lives. The announcement, made by Minister Atishi on Sunday, aims to provide support to affected families following the tragic events caused by intense monsoon showers on June 28.

Chandigarh experienced its coldest day of the winter season as the minimum temperature plummeted to 2.7°C on Tuesday, marking the third consecutive day of cold wave conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that this is the first time since 2017 that the city's minimum temperature dropped below 3°C. In 2017, it had fallen to 2.4°C on January 11.
