IndiGo's CEO, Peter Elbers, has announced plans to conduct a thorough review of the airline's operations to prevent future disruptions, following the chaos passengers faced due to dense fog in northern India. Despite acknowledging challenges arising from the recent weather conditions, Elbers assured that flight operations are expected to return to normalcy by next week.

Dense fog continues to engulf north and northeast India, causing significant disruptions in air and rail travel. On Thursday, a thick layer of fog persisted in parts of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Assam, and Odisha, leading to reduced visibility and travel delays. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that these weather conditions are likely to persist for the next five days, with cold wave to severe cold wave conditions expected over northwest India.

In a shocking incident, a passenger onboard an IndiGo flight (6E-2175) from Delhi to Goa physically assaulted the aircraft's co-captain while he was addressing passengers about delays caused by heavy fog. The assailant, identified as Sahil Kataria, was promptly arrested and later released on bail.
