RSS Opens New Delhi Headquarters ‘Keshav Kunj’ Worth ₹150 Crore, Featuring Three Towers, Hospital, and Library

RSS Inaugurates New Delhi Headquarters ‘Keshav Kunj’ with ₹150 Crore Complex

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has officially inaugurated its new headquarters, ‘Keshav Kunj,’ in New Delhi. Spanning five lakh square feet and surpassing the size of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters, the state-of-the-art complex features three towers, a library, a hospital, and a Hanuman temple. The entire project was funded through public donations, amounting to ₹150 crore.

A Modern Hub for RSS Activities

Designed to facilitate the RSS’s growing activities, Keshav Kunj is equipped with modern infrastructure to host events, training programs, and meetings. The new headquarters includes a five-bed hospital to provide medical care, while the expansive lawns offer relaxation spaces. The complex will also serve as a residential and office space for RSS functionaries.

Architectural Features and Towers

Situated in Jhandewalan, the RSS headquarters spans four acres and consists of three towers—Sadhana, Prerana, and Archana—collectively housing 300 rooms, office spaces, conference halls, and auditoriums. While Sadhana is dedicated to RSS offices, Prerana and Archana serve as residential facilities. Between these towers lies a landscaped lawn featuring a statue of RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, which will be used for daily shakhas.

Facilities and Capacity

The headquarters includes parking for 135 cars, with provisions to expand capacity to 270. It boasts three large auditoriums with a combined seating capacity of over 1,300 people. One of these, named after former Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Ashok Singhal, features stadium-style seating and cushioned chairs. The complex also incorporates traditional architectural elements from Rajasthan and Gujarat, utilizing 1,000 granite frames to minimize wood usage.

The headquarters houses a mess and canteen, along with Keshav Pustakalaya, a library located on the 10th floor, designed as a research space on the RSS. It will also accommodate the Dilli Prant Karyalay and Suruchi Prakashan offices.

Funded by Public Donations

An RSS functionary revealed that the headquarters was constructed entirely through donations from RSS workers and affiliates. “Around 75,000 people contributed amounts ranging from ₹5 to several lakhs to fund the project,” the functionary stated.

Prior to shifting to the new complex, RSS had been operating from Udaseen Ashram in Jhandewalan for eight years. The transition to Keshav Kunj began in September 2023 and is now complete, though minor interior work is still underway.

RSS Events and Upcoming Meetings

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is set to host the Karyakarta Milan at the new headquarters on February 19. Additionally, the RSS will hold its annual ‘Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha’—the organization’s highest decision-making body—from March 21-23 in Bengaluru.
