In a public meeting in Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the concept of ‘Modi’s Guarantees,’ emphasizing their commitment to fulfilling assurances that work specifically for those who lack resources. Addressing the gathering, Modi highlighted the impact of the recent interim budget, presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, which aims to empower various segments of the population, including the poor, women, and youth.
“Modi’s Guarantee means a guarantee to fulfill guarantees. Modi’s Guarantee works for those who do not have anything,” stated Prime Minister Modi. He elaborated on the budget’s focus on ensuring the development of every individual, particularly emphasizing the goal of providing a pucca house for every poor person in the country.
Modi emphasized the government’s commitment to eradicating temporary shelters, stating, “Over 4 crore poor families have been provided their own pucca houses in the country, of which around 25 lakh beneficiaries are in Odisha. The Centre is working for those who have been left out, announcing the construction of 2 crore more houses in the budget.”
Discussing agricultural initiatives, Modi highlighted the significant financial support provided to Odisha paddy farmers, totaling ₹1.10 lakh crore over the last ten years. He further detailed various schemes in the budget aimed at increasing farmers’ income, including the PM Kisan Saman Nidhi benefiting around 40 lakh farmers in Odisha.
The Prime Minister underscored the BJP’s commitment to social welfare, citing free ration distribution to 3.5 crore people in Odisha, ensuring food security for the next five years. He addressed the challenges faced by migrant workers and highlighted the One Nation, One Ration Card policy, aiming to benefit the people of the state.
Speaking on tribal development, Modi noted the historical neglect of tribal communities and emphasized the BJP government’s increased budget allocation towards tribal welfare in the past decade. He highlighted the PM Janman Yojana, designed to uplift vulnerable tribal groups in Odisha through development initiatives.
PM Modi also expressed gratitude for the recent recognition of former Deputy PM Lal Krishna Advani with the Bharat Ratna award, praising his dedicated service to the nation. Inaugurating projects in power and education worth ₹69,000 crore, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to improving lives, increasing income, and ensuring sustainable development.
