EaseMyTrip, the popular online travel tech aggregator, announced a significant leadership change on Wednesday. Co-Founder and CEO Nishant Pitti has stepped down from his position due to “personal reasons.” His resignation has led to the appointment of his brother, Rikant Pittie, as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company.

Rikant Pittie, who currently serves as the company’s Executive Director, co-founded EaseMyTrip in 2008. With over 16 years of experience in the tourism, travel, HR, and technology sectors, Rikant is well-positioned to take over the reins of the company.

In his new role, Rikant will be responsible for leading EaseMyTrip’s strategic initiatives, driving innovation, and enhancing customer experiences. The company expressed confidence that under his leadership, EaseMyTrip will strengthen its position in the competitive travel industry.

Rikant, a graduate of Kurukshetra University in Ambala, has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth and success since its inception. His deep understanding of the business landscape, coupled with his extensive experience, is expected to steer EaseMyTrip into its next phase of growth.

As per a regulatory filing, the company highlighted that Rikant’s focus will be on reinforcing the company’s market position by exploring new opportunities, improving operational efficiencies, and expanding its customer base.

On the day of the announcement, shares of EaseMyTrip traded at ₹15.85 per share on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), marking a slight dip of 0.13 percent from the previous close.

The leadership change comes at a time when EaseMyTrip continues to navigate through a rapidly evolving travel landscape, responding to changing market dynamics and customer expectations.

With Rikant at the helm, the company aims to maintain its upward trajectory and provide more innovative travel solutions to its users.
