Meet Jainam and Jivika: The Dubai Siblings Who Now Own the Jio Hotstar Domain

Dubai Siblings Acquire JioHotstar Domain Amid Controversy

In a surprising turn of events, a Delhi-based app developer who sought to sell the JioHotstar domain to Reliance Industries has transferred ownership to two young siblings from Dubai. Thirteen-year-old Jainam Jain and ten-year-old Jivika Jain have now become the proud owners of the domain, as reported by India Today.

The Delhi developer, who has chosen to remain anonymous and referred to himself as “a dreamer,” initially purchased the JioHotstar domain in hopes of capitalizing on the speculation surrounding a potential merger between Jio Cinema and Hotstar. With the merger now confirmed, he reached out to Reliance Industries, requesting a payment of over one crore rupees to fund his executive MBA studies at Cambridge University in the UK. However, Reliance reportedly declined to negotiate any deal.

In an unexpected twist, the domain was acquired by Jainam and Jivika, who expressed their intent to support the developer through their recent acquisition. The siblings updated the website to inform visitors of their purchase, emphasizing that their motive was to “support a young software developer from Delhi.”

In a heartfelt letter shared on the site, the Jain siblings reflected on their recent trip to India, which they described as a “Seva journey.” During this holiday, they dedicated time to teaching children and gathering donations, which ultimately funded their purchase of the domain. They stated, “Through sharing our journey here, we aim to inspire others and keep the domain open for future sale to anyone who wants to continue this positive mission.”

As of now, Reliance Industries has not issued a statement regarding the change in ownership of JioHotstar.com. The domain, now owned by the Dubai siblings, stands as a testament to their charitable endeavors and highlights the unexpected intersections of technology, entrepreneurship, and youthful ambition.

The story of Jainam and Jivika Jain serves as an inspiring example of how innovative thinking and a desire to give back can lead to unexpected opportunities, even in the fast-paced world of digital commerce.
