“Elon Musk’s X (Twitter) Allows Users to Hide Blue Checkmark with New Feature”

X (Twitter) users can now hide their Blue checkmark obtained through paid subscription, following rebranding efforts

In a significant update, Elon Musk’s X, the rebranded name of the popular social media platform Twitter, has introduced a new feature that allows users to hide the Blue checkmark obtained through a paid subscription. This change comes as part of X’s efforts to offer users more control over their profiles and visibility on the platform.

The Blue checkmark, often known as the “verified” badge, has long been a symbol of authenticity and credibility on Twitter. Initially, it was reserved for high-profile accounts, public figures, and celebrities to differentiate them from impersonators. However, with the launch of the Twitter Blue subscription service, this badge became accessible to all users who opted for the premium membership.

According to reports by X News Daily, users who are subscribed to Twitter Blue can now choose to hide their Blue checkmark on the web, iOS, and Android versions of X. This new feature allows users to manage how their profiles appear to others and exercise greater control over their online presence.

To turn off the Blue checkmark from their X (Twitter) accounts, users can follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the ‘About’ section on their X account.
  2. Look for the option labeled “Hide Your Checkmark” for X Blue.
  3. Click on the “Hide Your Checkmark” option to proceed.
  4. By selecting this option, the Blue tick will no longer appear on the user’s posts or profile.

However, it’s essential to note that while the Blue checkmark will be hidden from public view, some features and locations on the platform may still indicate that the user has an active membership. Additionally, certain features might be inaccessible while the Blue tick remains hidden.

In addition to the new Blue checkmark feature, X has undergone a significant rebranding effort. The platform has replaced almost all mentions of “Twitter” with the new name, X. It has also renamed “Tweets” to “Posts” and “Retweets” to “Reposts.” The app’s tagline, “Blaze your glory!” further emphasizes X’s commitment to empowering users to express themselves freely on the platform.

As part of the rebranding, X introduced a brand-new logo, featuring a sleek white X on a black background, replacing the iconic blue bird associated with Twitter. This visual transformation aligns with Elon Musk’s larger vision to turn X into a versatile “super app,” akin to China’s all-in-one platform WeChat.

Linda Yaccarino, the newly appointed CEO of X, confirmed that the logo change is just one step in the platform’s ambitious rebranding process, aiming to evolve Twitter into an “everything” app. The transformation is set to bring numerous changes to enhance user experience and expand the platform’s offerings beyond traditional microblogging.

With these latest updates, X aims to strengthen its position as a leading social media platform while providing users with more flexibility and personalization options. As the platform continues to evolve, users can expect even more exciting features and enhancements to enrich their social media experience on Elon Musk’s X.
