Customer Claims Blinkit Delivered Wrong Gold Coin, Sparks Outrage on Social Media

A customer, Mohit Jain, has raised serious allegations against the quick-commerce platform Blinkit, claiming he received a 0.5-gram gold coin instead of the 1-gram gold coin he ordered for Dhanteras. Jain also ordered a 10-gram silver coin from Malabar Gold and Diamonds, but the discrepancy has left him feeling scammed.

According to Jain’s social media posts, he placed his order through Blinkit, paying in advance. However, he was not home at the time of delivery and provided an OTP to his younger brother to receive the package. Upon returning home, he discovered that instead of the 1-gram Mata Lakshmi gold coin he ordered, he was given a 0.5-gram gold coin featuring a rose design.

Jain expressed his frustration on social media, stating, “Got scammed by Blinkit. I ordered one gm gold coin from Blinkit, along with a 10 gm silver coin. After 20 minutes, the return window got closed, and I couldn’t contact any support executive.” He added that he even attempted to reach the delivery person, sharing that the CCTV footage confirmed the delivery of the wrong product.

To bolster his claims, Jain shared a photo of the received gold coin along with screenshots of his original order details. He also highlighted his interaction with Blinkit’s customer support, which he found lacking. An automated response informed him that the “complaint window for the selected item(s) is closed,” offering no real solution to his problem.

This incident has ignited a wave of backlash on social media, with many users expressing outrage over the alleged scam and the platform’s customer service. Comments on Jain’s post revealed a widespread sentiment of dissatisfaction, with one user stating, “Blinkit is a scam these days. Their customer care is a shitshow of a joke.”

Another user chimed in, warning others about the risks of ordering expensive items from the platform. “I don’t know why you guys trust these apps for expensive items. These guys can’t manage our small orders,” they wrote.

Others shared their own negative experiences with Blinkit, with one user recounting a situation where they received rotten and infested dry fruits for a Diwali gift. This trend of complaints suggests a growing concern among consumers regarding the reliability of quick-commerce platforms for high-value items.

As the social media outrage continues to grow, it remains to be seen how Blinkit will address these customer grievances and improve its service to restore consumer trust.
