BookMyShow Cautions Fans About Illegal Ticket Resales for Coldplay Concerts in India: “Only Official Sales Are Valid”

British rock band Coldplay is set to perform in India as part of their highly anticipated Music Of The Spheres World Tour, with concerts scheduled for January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, in Mumbai. Tickets for these shows went on sale through BookMyShow on Sunday and sold out rapidly, leaving many fans disappointed.

While a limited number of lucky fans secured tickets, others quickly noticed that unauthorized resale platforms have begun listing tickets at inflated prices. In response, BookMyShow issued a stern warning to fans via Instagram, cautioning against purchasing tickets from these unauthorized sources.

The official statement read, “It has come to our attention that unauthorized platforms are listing tickets for Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India, both before and after the official sale. These tickets are invalid. Ticket scalping is illegal in India and punishable by law. Please don’t fall prey to this because you will be buying fake tickets. Avoid scams! BookMyShow is the only official platform for ticket sales.”

In an effort to protect fans, the post further urged, “Protect Yourself from Ticket Scams! Don’t fall prey to unauthorized platforms selling fake tickets for Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India!”

The rush for tickets caused high traffic on the BookMyShow website, leading to temporary outages. However, the site quickly resumed operations, with over 1.1 million people still in line by 1:50 PM on the first day of sales. Notably, tickets for the second day had already sold out by that time.

Coldplay, consisting of members Chris Martin (vocals, piano), Jonny Buckland (guitar), Guy Berryman (bass), and Will Champion (drums), is returning to India after an eight-year hiatus, their last performance being at the Global Citizen Festival in 2016. Fans are eagerly anticipating this chance to see the band live, but must be cautious of potential scams in the ticket market.
