Blinkit Introduces ‘Ambulance in 10 Minutes’ Service, Gurgaon Becomes the First City to Receive Instant Medical Transport

Blinkit, the quick-commerce platform, has taken a pioneering step in emergency healthcare by launching a 10-minute ambulance delivery service in Gurgaon. Residents can now summon an ambulance equipped with life-saving equipment via the Blinkit app, ensuring swift medical assistance during critical moments.

The initiative was announced by Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where he described it as a solution to the pressing need for quick and reliable emergency transport in urban areas.

What the Service Offers

The newly launched ambulances are outfitted with essential life-support equipment such as oxygen cylinders, defibrillators, stretchers, monitors, and emergency medicines. Each ambulance will have a trained paramedic, an assistant, and a driver to ensure that patients receive immediate care on their way to the hospital.

“We are carefully scaling this service up, as it is both important and new to us. Our aim is to expand to all major cities over the next two years,” Dhindsa said in his post. The service is initially starting with five ambulances in Gurgaon.

Affordability Over Profit

While Blinkit has not disclosed the cost of the service, Dhindsa assured users that affordability will be a priority. “Profit is not a goal for this service,” he said, emphasizing the long-term commitment to solving a critical problem.

Expansion Plans

Blinkit plans to expand the service to other major cities within the next two years. Customers will soon see the option to book Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances directly through the Blinkit app.

Additional Developments at Blinkit

This ambulance service is the second significant launch by Blinkit this week. Earlier, the company introduced a new fleet of electric vehicles designed for handling large orders such as electronics and party supplies. Currently available in Delhi and Gurgaon, the service will soon roll out in other cities.

Conclusion

Blinkit’s entry into the healthcare sector highlights the evolving role of quick-commerce platforms in addressing urban challenges. With its 10-minute ambulance service, the company aims to bridge critical gaps in emergency healthcare, offering a lifeline to residents in need.
