Bengaluru to Build South Asia’s Tallest Skydeck with ₹500 Crore Investment

outh Asia's Tallest Skydeck Approved for Bengaluru at ₹500 Crore

The Karnataka Cabinet has greenlit the construction of South Asia’s tallest skydeck, set to rise 250 meters above Bengaluru at an estimated cost of ₹500 crore. This ambitious project promises to transform the city’s skyline and offer a breathtaking 360-degree view of the tech capital of India.

Scheduled to be constructed on NICE Road in outer Bengaluru, the skydeck will be significantly taller than iconic structures like Delhi’s Qutub Minar, which stands at 73 meters. For context, the proposed tower will be more than three times the height of the Qutub Minar.

The decision, announced by Karnataka’s Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs, HK Patil, marks a major milestone for the city. “The Karnataka government has approved South Asia’s tallest Skydeck, which will offer a panoramic view of India’s technology capital,” Patil said.

In addition to its towering height, the skydeck will feature world-class amenities for visitors and will be seamlessly connected to the metro rail system to facilitate easy access. Although specific details about the facilities within the skydeck are yet to be confirmed, it is expected to include a luxury shopping complex among other attractions.

Originally planned for a central Bengaluru location, the project faced challenges including the difficulty of acquiring 25 acres of land and objections from the Defense Ministry due to the height of the structure. Consequently, the site was relocated to outer Bengaluru.

In related infrastructure developments, the Karnataka Cabinet has also approved a two-way tunnel project from Hebbal to Silkboard Junction, with a staggering budget of ₹1,269 crore, further enhancing Bengaluru’s connectivity.
