Shark Tank India: When Sharks lauded Laxmi Transgender head priestess Laxmi Narayan Tripathi for creating mass employment for her community

Shark Tank India, the popular business reality show has encouraged many entrepreneurs to establish their own businesses and displayed various Indian businesses on global platforms. The Sharks not only invest in the innovative pitches on the show but also closely assist them to move towards growth and sustainability.Shark Tank India has released a video of Season 1 Unseen Pitches, which includes social activist transgender Laxmi Narayan Tripathi presenting her water brand with long-time aide Manish Jain. She did not get the agreement, but she wowed the Sharks with her vision and motivation for creating the brand.
Laxmi spoke about how her water business has been bringing employment for transgender members who used to either beg on the streets or engage in prostitution. They have finally found hope of earning money by working respectfully through the brand. Laxmi’s goal was to upscale the business, become one of the country’s top water-producing brands and bring more employment to her community.

Laxmi also expressed gratitude to the Sharks for the opportunity to exhibit her business on the television reality show. The brand was founded in 2018, and she has received numerous accolades and prizes for it. The YouTube video of their pitch has received over 4 million views with people lauding her brand.
Even though Laxmi and Manish couldn’t crack a deal with the Sharks, Namita Thapar decided to help her by bringing more employment opportunities as her HR Team got in touch with Laxmi to assist her with the employment structure and even scale up her business.

Laxmi Narayan Tripathi gained popularity after appearing on Shark Tank India, although she was already well-known prior to her appearance, having been on The Kapil Sharma Show during the marketing of Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani’s film Laxmii. She is a social activist and the Head Priestess of International Kinnar Akhada in Delhi.

Laxmi married Aryan Pasha, India’s first transgender bodybuilder, after being friends with him since 2019. She has done numerous efforts for the development of the trans community and has received numerous honours, including the National Achievers Award, the Best CSR Initiative Award, and the Mahatma Gandhi Samman.
