Actor-comedian Vir Das has taken to social media to express his frustration with IndiGo airlines, highlighting what he perceives as frequent flight delays. In a recent post on X, Das shared his dismay at experiencing delays for the fifth consecutive time while flying with IndiGo, prompting a response from the airline.
Das’s Post: “When did IndiGo turn into the ‘board you on time, but keep you on the flight and depart when you’re supposed to land’ airline? Like fifth time in a row this happened. @IndiGo6E,” wrote Vir on X.
In response to Das’s complaint, IndiGo’s official X account addressed the issue, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused by the delays. The airline attributed the delays to air traffic congestion at Mumbai airport, emphasizing that such factors were beyond their control. They assured Das and other passengers that they are committed to improving their services and thanked him for his understanding and patience.
Furthermore, when a fan suggested that Das received a response because of his celebrity status, IndiGo responded to them as well, requesting their PNR number for further assistance.
Celebrity Criticism: Vir Das is not the only celebrity to voice grievances against IndiGo. Several other actors, including Pooja Hegde, Rana Daggubati, Ankit Tiwari, Ranvir Shorey, Sonu Sood, and Kapil Sharma, have previously criticized the airline for similar reasons. Ranvir Shorey, in particular, had described his ordeal in detail on X, expressing frustration over a 10-hour delay that caused him to miss an important family commitment.
Earlier this year, Radhika Apte encountered issues at Mumbai airport when passengers were stranded on an aerobridge without food and water for hours. Similarly, Richa Chadha revealed in January that her flight with IndiGo was delayed by four hours, adding to the growing list of complaints against the airline.
IndiGo’s response to Vir Das’s criticism reflects their commitment to addressing customer concerns and improving service quality. However, repeated instances of flight delays reported by both celebrities and ordinary passengers raise questions about the airline’s operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
