“Swiggy Executive Impressed by Unique Handwritten Job Application: A Creative Approach That Worked”

In a world dominated by digital applications and AI-enhanced CVs, a young job seeker has managed to stand out in an extraordinary way. Saptarshi Prakash, an Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Design at Swiggy, recently took to social media to share his astonishment at receiving a handwritten job application that not only caught his attention but also included a creative concept aimed at enhancing the Swiggy app user experience.

The letter, which was sent through traditional mail, was delivered to Prakash’s office in Bengaluru. In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Prakash expressed his admiration for the applicant’s initiative. “Received a physical letter from a designer wanting to join Swiggy with a concept,” he wrote, accompanied by images of the letter that showcased the job seeker’s creativity and enthusiasm.

The job seeker presented a new idea they believed could significantly improve the user experience on the Swiggy platform. In their letter, they stated, “I would love to have the opportunity to present it to you and the team if given the chance… What I am truly hoping for is a single opportunity to express myself and showcase my work in front of you.”

Although Prakash clarified that there are currently no open positions for UX/UI design at Swiggy, he expressed a willingness to engage further. He invited the candidate to share their concept via email, stating, “While we may not have a relevant role at Swiggy for you at the moment, I’ve definitely taken note of your initiative… I’d also love to review the concept you have developed. Would you mind dropping me an email? I’m sure you’ll find my email address—you found my physical one!”

The post quickly gained traction on social media, amassing over 40,000 views as users praised the job seeker’s ingenuity and determination. Comments flooded in, with one user noting, “In this age, anyone using a paper and a physical medium itself is refreshing. Bookmark it!” Another user praised the designer’s creativity, remarking, “This designer can think of alternative ways that are actually outside the box.” The positive responses captured the surprise and admiration of many who celebrated the bold move.

As job markets continue to evolve, this story highlights the power of creativity and initiative in making an impression—even in the digital age. The applicant’s handwritten letter serves as a reminder that sometimes, thinking outside the box can lead to unexpected opportunities.
