Bengaluru Swiggy and Zomato Delivery Agents Outearn Average IT Engineers, Reveals YouTube Interview

An intriguing YouTube interview with Swiggy and Zomato delivery agents in Bengaluru has unveiled surprising salary figures that exceed those of average IT engineers. The interview, conducted by Loveena Kamath for the Full Disclosure channel, highlights how these delivery agents are earning significantly more than their counterparts in the IT sector.

According to Kamath, the average monthly salary for an IT engineer in India is approximately ₹20,000. However, the delivery agents she spoke to reported earnings that are more than double this amount. Shiva, a 22-year-old Swiggy delivery driver, earns between ₹40,000 and ₹50,000 per month. His income is a combination of a base pay of ₹20 per order from Swiggy, along with tips and incentives. Shiva mentioned he receives around ₹5,000 monthly from tips alone.

Shiva has managed to save ₹2 lakh over the past six months, which he plans to invest in starting a business in his village. He aspires to open a D-Mart to create job opportunities for locals.

In addition to Shiva, Kamath interviewed Taiyappa, another delivery agent, whose earnings also surpass the average IT engineer’s salary. Taiyappa’s financial stability has allowed him to provide a comfortable life for his family and invest in personal goals.
