Lalit Modi Announces Split from Sushmita Sen, Shares Video with New Love

Lalit Modi Confirms Breakup with Sushmita Sen, Introduces New Partner on Instagram

Lalit Modi, the former chairman and founder of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has confirmed his breakup with Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen. On Valentine’s Day, Modi took to Instagram to share a video montage featuring his new partner, officially announcing that he has found love again.

While he did not disclose the name of his new partner, the video hinted at a long-standing bond between the two. According to Modi, their friendship of 25 years has now blossomed into a romantic relationship. Sharing the heartfelt post, he wrote, “Lucky Once – Yes. But I got lucky TWICE. When a 25-year friendship turns to LOVE. It happened twice. Hope it does for you all too. #happyvalentinesday to you all.”

The video featured cherished moments of the couple from both past and present, with John Paul Young’s song Love is in the Air playing in the background.

Lalit Modi’s Past Relationships

Lalit Modi was previously married to Minal Modi, with whom he tied the knot in 1991. The couple remained together until Minal’s tragic passing due to cancer in 2018.

In 2022, Modi made headlines when he publicly announced his relationship with Sushmita Sen. He shared romantic pictures from their vacation in the Maldives, even updating his Instagram bio to reflect his relationship with the Bollywood star. However, their romance was short-lived, and breakup rumors started circulating soon after. Modi never directly addressed the speculation but removed all traces of Sen from his social media accounts.

Sen, on the other hand, spoke about her relationship with Modi during a 2023 podcast, where she addressed the criticism she faced. Many had labeled her a “gold digger” for dating Modi, a comment she found amusing.
