Interview with Yuri Yakimovich, President of NGO MOEX.

Thank you for taking the time to give us an interview. Your organization is currently one of the most influential international organizations in the world. You are not a very public organization. Today, I would like to lift the veil for the global community and for you to personally tell us about yourself and the activities of your organization.

1. Please tell us about yourself.

Yuri Yakimovich (President, NGO MOEX):

To begin with, I was born in the USSR. I graduated from Volgograd State Pedagogical University (Russia) with a degree in socio‑economic education. My academic background laid the foundation for my future endeavors in public administration and international relations. During my university studies, I developed a deep understanding of economic and social systems, which later served as a solid foundation for my career.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in various fields, including:

– Public Administration: I have worked in the public administration system, gaining valuable insights into public‑policy development and management. At one time, I was honored to play an important role in the development and implementation of policies that promote economic growth and social well‑being. During certain years, I was a member of the faction’s expert council in the Russian parliament.

– International Diplomacy: As the head of the international non‑governmental organization MOEX, I work with more than 80 countries around the world, promoting global cooperation and development.

– Advisory Roles: Today, I also work as a state advisor in more than 20 countries around the world, and I am an advisor to the rectors of leading universities worldwide, including the advisor to the rector of the University of Pro‑Deo (Italy) on international affairs. I am also a member of intergovernmental commissions in various countries.

2. Please tell us about your organization.

Yuri Yakimovich:

When discussing the activities of MOEX, I would like to start with a general description. MOEX is an international non‑governmental organization (NGO). Our international non‑governmental organization MOEX (not to be confused with the Moscow Exchange) specializes in the development and support of comprehensive state development programs.

The foundation was initially registered in 2022, but it did not actually begin operations until 2023. The foundation is a recognized international non‑governmental organization (NGO) that enjoys the trust and support of governments in many countries around the world.

Today, the world is changing, and the global order is evolving. Our organization was established to bring together different countries to define the economic agenda in various territories. Although, frankly speaking, the organization has more global goals and objectives.

How many countries does MOEX currently unite? Today, our organization unites more than 80 countries around the world. We are trusted by most national governments. Our approaches to work are very different from the structures that were the basis of the global governance system until recently. NGO MOEX is currently the foundation of the new global system.

3. Before our interview, I studied information about your organization in detail. You have a very professional approach to working at the global level. I have read that you have a main structure called MOEX‑Global, as well as territorial management centers. Please tell us more about this.*

Yuri Yakimovich:

MOEX‑Global is a structure that defines the concept of working at the global level and sets the overall economic agenda. Essentially, it is the foundation of a new global system. The foundation’s board includes representatives from all the national governments of the MOEX member countries, and this body directly determines the entire agenda.

As for the territorial management centers of MOEX, we have eight of them. Within the framework of the organization’s overall concept, the territorial management centers of MOEX develop and support the implementation of a comprehensive development program for a specific territorial area. The territorial management centers of MOEX are headed by influential people in their respective regions of the world.
