“Indian Entrepreneur Reveals How He Attended Stanford Lecture Without Paying”

Indian Co-founder Shares How He Sneaked into a Lecture at Stanford for Free

Mukul Rustagi, co-founder of Classplus, recently shared an intriguing anecdote about his journey to Stanford University in an interview that has captivated many. Rustagi and his business partner, Bhaswat Agarwal, found themselves dreaming of Stanford despite lacking the grades or finances to attend. Their curiosity about what made Stanford special led them to a daring adventure.

In a video that has garnered over 2.7 lakh views, Rustagi recounts how they managed to sneak into a lecture at Stanford University without proper credentials. “My co-founder and I snuck into a class at Stanford! Stanford was our dream, but we didn’t have the grades or the money to go,” Rustagi shared.

Their approach was straightforward yet audacious. They politely asked the professor if they could sit in on the class, and to their surprise, he agreed. The lecture delved into the intricacies of valuation in acquisitions and mergers, providing Rustagi and Agarwal with valuable insights they wouldn’t have accessed otherwise.

Rustagi reminisced about their memorable experience, stating, “Before leaving, we asked the professor if we could keep a marker as a souvenir, and he agreed. We still have that marker in our bag to this day!” This act of curiosity and determination has inspired many, with Instagram users expressing admiration and intrigue.

One user questioned the logistics of their entry, asking, “ID card ke bina entry kaise ki? (How did you enter without an ID card)?” Another user, familiar with the academic culture in the US, noted that attending classes without formal enrollment is common at universities there.

The overall sentiment from viewers has been overwhelmingly positive and inspired. Comments like “This is super awesome,” “This is inspiring, Amazing,” reflect the admiration for Rustagi and Agarwal’s bold initiative to pursue knowledge despite barriers.

Rustagi’s story serves as a reminder of the power of determination and curiosity, showcasing how a simple request and a thirst for learning can lead to extraordinary experiences.
