The first of the two premium subscription options will be budget-friendly, designed for users seeking cost-effective access to X’s premium features. Notably, this tier will retain the same ad presence as the free version, allowing users to enjoy premium features without opting for a completely ad-free experience.

For those who prioritize an ad-free and uninterrupted browsing and social interaction experience, Musk also announced a second premium tier. This higher-cost subscription ensures a completely ad-free environment for users who are willing to pay a premium for this enhanced experience.

Musk’s announcement did not include specific details about the subscription plans, leaving users eager to learn more about the pricing, availability, and the full scope of premium features.

Since Elon Musk took the helm of the platform in October 2022, X has undergone significant transformations. These changes include mass layoffs, the dissolution of content moderation teams, and the rebranding of the platform from Twitter to X. Additionally, Musk introduced a $8-per-month blue check subscription service and initiated efforts to attract advertisers back to X by offering discounts.

Recently, X launched a test in New Zealand and the Philippines, implementing a subscription method called “Not A Bot.” This approach charges new users $1 to access the platform, while those who opt not to subscribe are restricted to “read-only” actions, such as reading posts, watching videos, and following accounts. The objective of this method is to combat spam, reduce platform manipulation, and minimize bot activity on the platform.
