In a remarkable celebration of love and adventure, a Saudi couple recently made headlines by tying the knot underwater in the Red Sea, just off the coast of Jeddah. This innovative ceremony marks one of the first underwater weddings in Saudi Arabia and is part of a growing trend of couples seeking unique wedding experiences that blend romance with adventure.
Divers Hassan Abu Al-Ola and Yasmine Daftardar exchanged vows surrounded by the vibrant coral reefs and marine life that the Red Sea is renowned for. The intimate ceremony was attended by a small group of fellow divers and organized by the local diving group, Saudi Divers, led by Captain Faisal Flemban. The team provided full support for the event, equipping the couple with the necessary diving gear and orchestrating a surprise underwater celebration.
For Hassan and Yasmine, both avid divers, the underwater venue was a natural choice. “It was indeed a surprise. After we geared up, Captain Faisal and the team told us they had planned to celebrate our wedding right there under the sea. It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience,” Hassan shared in an interview.
The ceremony went off without any issues, with Hassan reflecting, “Alhamdulillah, there were no challenges. The celebration went smoothly, and everyone was amazed by how unconventional and spectacular it was.”
The couple hopes their unique wedding will inspire others to explore the natural beauty of Saudi Arabia’s marine life. By sharing their story, they aim to promote the underwater wonders of the region, aligning with the broader vision of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman. “This is just one way we can contribute to realizing the vision of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Prince of Youth and the visionary leader of our great country,” Hassan concluded.
As adventurous couples seek new ways to celebrate their love, this underwater wedding serves as a beacon for those looking to embrace both romance and the stunning beauty of nature.
