British band Coldplay has added a second concert date in Ahmedabad following an overwhelming demand for tickets for their first show. The band, which is set to perform at Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25, 2024, saw the tickets for that date sell out within minutes of going live. In response to the massive fan turnout, Coldplay announced a second performance at the same venue on January 26, 2025.
The second show was officially announced via social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), where Coldplay shared the news with fans, writing, “SECOND 2025 AHMEDABAD DATE ANNOUNCED. The band will play a second show at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 26 January, 2025. Tickets on sale TODAY at 1PM IST. Delivered by DHL.”
The tickets for the second show went live at 1 pm IST on Saturday, and the response was just as swift. Fans eager to attend the concert were quick to secure their spots. However, ticket sales did not come without a warning. BookMyShow, the official ticketing platform, issued a statement urging fans to avoid purchasing tickets from unauthorized resellers. The platform warned that unauthorised reselling of Coldplay tickets was illegal in India, with severe penalties for violators. “It has come to our attention that unauthorised platforms are listing tickets for Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India,” read the warning on Instagram. “Please don’t fall prey to this because you will be buying fake tickets. Avoid scams!”
Fans attending the Ahmedabad concerts can expect to hear Coldplay’s iconic hits such as “Yellow,” “The Scientist,” “Clocks,” “Fix You,” “Viva La Vida,” “Paradise,” “A Sky Full of Stars,” and “Adventure of a Lifetime.” The band’s return to India after a nine-year hiatus has been highly anticipated, with their last performance in the country taking place at the 2016 Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai.
In addition to the two concerts in Ahmedabad, Coldplay has also announced three shows in Mumbai. These performances will take place on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, as part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour. The Ahmedabad shows, however, are expected to be their biggest gig in India to date.
With tickets quickly selling out and the band’s return creating a buzz among fans, Coldplay’s India tour promises to be an unforgettable experience for music lovers across the country.
