Pratt & Whitney Appoints Ashish Saraf as Vice President and India Head

Aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney has named Ashish Saraf as Vice President and Country Head for India. Saraf, who brings over two decades of industry expertise, will lead the company’s strategic growth and transformation efforts in India. The company made the announcement on Monday in a statement.

In his new role, Saraf will be responsible for overseeing Pratt & Whitney’s in-country operations, including engineering, supply chain, customer service, operations, and digital transformation centres. The company emphasized that Saraf’s leadership will be pivotal as it focuses on expanding its footprint and enhancing its capabilities in India.

Saraf joins Pratt & Whitney from Thales, where he served as the country director and chairman for all Thales India businesses. His leadership at Thales spanned various sectors, including aerospace, defence, biometrics, cybersecurity, and the Global Capability Center. His experience at Thales will now play a crucial role in steering Pratt & Whitney’s growth strategy in the region.

“His wealth of expertise in profit and loss management, business transformation, and strategic partnerships will significantly contribute to our growth in India,” said Satheeshkumar Kumarasingam, Chief Digital Officer at Pratt & Whitney.

Pratt & Whitney has been actively investing in India, with over USD 40 million dedicated to expanding its engineering, digital transformation, supply chain, and aftermarket services in the past four years. The company’s continued investment in the region highlights India’s strategic importance in its global operations.

Saraf’s career also includes leadership roles at Airbus and the Tata-Sikorsky joint venture, providing him with a broad perspective across the aerospace, space, defence, biometrics, and manufacturing sectors. His appointment marks an important milestone for Pratt & Whitney as the company continues to grow its presence and capabilities in India.

With Saraf at the helm, Pratt & Whitney aims to bolster its position in the competitive Indian market and strengthen its role in the global aerospace sector.
