The report card noted that these rankings celebrate the accomplishments of central bank governors whose strategies have outperformed their peers in terms of originality, creativity, and tenacity.
The grades awarded in the report are based on a scale ranging from ‘A’ to ‘F,’ evaluating success in areas such as inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability, and interest rate management. An ‘A’ grade signifies excellent performance, while an ‘F’ designates outright failure.
Shaktikanta Das shares this prestigious ‘A+’ rating with two other central bank governors—Thomas J. Jordan of Switzerland and Nguyen Thi Hong of Vietnam. Their commendable performances have earned them top honors in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2023.
