Supriya Sule, Lok Sabha MP from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), revealed on Sunday that her phone and WhatsApp accounts have been compromised. Sule issued an urgent request to the public to refrain from calling or texting her, as she has lodged a formal complaint with the police regarding the security breach.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Sule wrote, “Urgent: My phone and WhatsApp have been hacked. Please do not call or text me. I have reached out to the police for help.” The NCP MP’s prompt action highlights concerns over digital security and personal privacy breaches.
A police complaint regarding the hacking incident was reportedly filed online, according to PTI. The nature of the hacking incident and its potential impact on Sule’s personal and professional communications remain unclear at this time.
In other political developments, Prahar Janshakti Party (PJP) president and MLA Omprakash alias Bacchu Kadu met with NCP chief Sharad Pawar in Pune on Saturday. Following their meeting, Kadu indicated that he would decide by September 1 whether to remain with the Mahayuti alliance or leave it.
Sule praised Kadu for his efforts on behalf of individuals with disabilities, despite differing political affiliations. She expressed hope that all political factions would unite for the betterment of Maharashtra.
The Prahar Janshakti Party, part of the ruling Mahayuti alliance, which includes Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, the BJP, and Ajit Pawar’s NCP, has ambitions to contest 20 out of the 288 seats in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. The elections are anticipated to be held in October.
