PM Modi Commends Goa's Unity and Development Initiatives, Unveils Projects Worth Over ₹1,330 Crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Goa’s rich cultural tapestry and communal harmony during his visit to the state on Tuesday, describing it as a “perfect example of Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat”. Addressing a gathering at the ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047’ programme, Modi emphasized Goa’s social diversity, where people from various communities and faiths coexist peacefully.

“In terms of area and population, Goa is small but when it comes to social diversity, Goa is huge. Here people of various communities and different faiths live together. They have lived together for generations,” remarked PM Modi. He highlighted the significance of Goa’s consistent support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), attributing it to the party’s ethos of inclusive development encapsulated in the slogan “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”.

PM Modi underscored the importance of achieving 100 percent saturation of central government schemes in Goa, labeling it as “real secularism and social justice”. He emphasized that such saturation ensures that every beneficiary receives the full benefits without any discrimination or corruption.

During his visit, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects amounting to over ₹1,330 crore. Among these projects were the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology Goa and the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports. The National Institute of Technology’s new campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities including tutorial complexes, departmental buildings, administrative centers, hostels, and sports grounds, aiming to provide comprehensive support to students, faculty, and staff.

Additionally, the National Institute of Watersports will introduce tailored courses aimed at promoting watersports and water rescue activities, catering to both civilians and the armed forces. PM Modi also initiated the construction of a Passenger Ropeway, alongside associated tourism activities, to connect Panaji and Reis Magos, enhancing connectivity and tourism prospects in the region.

The unveiling of these projects reflects the government’s commitment to bolstering education, sports, and tourism infrastructure in Goa, furthering the state’s progress towards socio-economic development and prosperity. PM Modi’s visit underscores the BJP’s dedication to fostering unity, development, and inclusive growth across the nation, as echoed in its overarching vision for a harmonious and prosperous India.
