In a troubling incident highlighting privacy concerns, a Bengaluru woman has accused her ex-boyfriend of tracking her movements through a food delivery app following the end of their relationship. The story, shared by Rupal Madhup on LinkedIn, reveals how the woman’s ex-boyfriend, who works for the delivery platform, allegedly flagged her account, granting him access to her real-time delivery addresses.

According to Madhup’s post, the woman initially met her ex through the dating app Bumble. However, after their relationship ended, the man reportedly began monitoring her activities by querying her about her late-night food orders and weekend trips. His intrusive behavior included questions such as, “Why are you not ordering at your own place at 2 AM?” and comments about her food choices, suggesting he knew details about her life without her consent.

Madhup expressed her shock at the situation, stating, “This man was literally using data to stalk her post-breakup. Just think about it. Knowing someone’s location and activities through a food delivery app is seriously creepy, especially given how revenge-driven breakups can be.” She highlighted the potential dangers of data misuse in today’s digital age, stating that while data is a powerful resource, it can also become a weapon in the wrong hands.

The LinkedIn post has sparked a mixed reaction from users. Some have raised concerns about the authenticity of the woman’s story, referencing stringent privacy policies and security measures typically enforced by tech companies. One user commented, “It is highly unlikely that an individual employee, regardless of their access level, can use customer data for personal motives without violating internal protocols.”
