Couple in Kanpur Defrauds Elderly of ₹35 Crore with Phony ‘Age-Reversing’ Device

In a shocking case from Kanpur, a couple has been accused of scamming elderly individuals out of a staggering ₹35 crore by promoting a fraudulent “Israeli-made time machine” that claimed to reverse the effects of aging. Rashmi and Rajeev Dubey, the alleged masterminds behind the scheme, opened a therapy center called ‘Revival World’ in Kidwai Nagar, where they advertised their dubious services, enticing vulnerable seniors with promises of rejuvenation through “oxygen therapy.”

According to reports from The Times of India, the couple specifically targeted elderly clients, asserting that the high levels of pollution in Kanpur had accelerated their aging process. They marketed the therapy sessions as a miracle solution that could make them appear youthful again, drawing in dozens of unsuspecting victims.

The couple charged ₹90,000 for each session inside their so-called time machine. The therapy service quickly morphed into a pyramid scheme, where clients were encouraged to refer others in exchange for discounts, thus expanding their customer base at an alarming rate. One victim, Renu Singh Chandel, shared her experience, stating that she was promised a free session if she brought others to the therapy. Consequently, she introduced several individuals, unwittingly contributing to the couple’s fraudulent enterprise.

As of now, the police have recorded a total of 25 complaints, but they believe more victims may come forward as the investigation unfolds. The authorities are working diligently to identify additional victims and have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Rashmi and Rajeev.

In a bid to prevent the couple from fleeing justice, airport authorities have been alerted to monitor for any attempts by the duo to leave the country.

As the investigation continues, the shocking case has raised serious concerns about the vulnerability of elderly individuals to such scams, highlighting the need for increased awareness and protective measures against fraudulent schemes targeting senior citizens.
