Senna Tower to surpass NYC’s Central Park Tower with 154 floors, luxury residences, and Ayrton Senna legacy
Brazil is set to become home to the world’s tallest residential building with the upcoming Senna Tower, a 1,800-foot-tall skyscraper inspired by Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna. The tower, located in Balneário Camboriú, will boast 154 floors and luxurious residences, making it the new tallest apartment building globally — surpassing New York City’s Central Park Tower.
According to a report by the New York Post, the crown jewels of the Senna Tower will be two massive triplex penthouses spanning 9,700 square feet each. These top-tier residences are priced at a jaw-dropping $53 million (₹453 crore), far exceeding initial estimates of around $15.92 million. The penthouses will be sold through the UK-based luxury auction house Sotheby’s.
Inspired by a Racing Icon
The tower pays tribute to the late Ayrton Senna, the Brazilian motorsport icon and three-time Formula 1 world champion who tragically lost his life at age 34 during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. The design is being led by Senna’s niece, artist Lalalli Senna, who aims to capture the spirit and legacy of the racing legend through the architectural marvel.
The Senna Tower will feature 228 units in total, including 204 apartments and 18 ‘suspended mansions’, each promising ultra-luxurious living spaces. The smallest of the units is expected to cost around $5 million (₹42.7 crore), underlining the project’s ultra-premium positioning.
A Billion-Dollar Investment
The ambitious skyscraper is a collaborative venture between Brazilian construction company FG Empreendimentos, Ayrton Senna’s family, and retail giant Havan. The estimated investment in the project is over $525 million, with completion targeted for the year 2033.
Luxury Real Estate Boom
This announcement follows another recent highlight in the luxury real estate market — a penthouse in New York’s Steinway Tower, dubbed the world’s skinniest skyscraper, was listed for a staggering $110 million. The quadplex unit spans four floors from the 80th to the 83rd of the 1,400-foot-tall building. Steinway Tower, completed in 2022, is famed for its dramatic height-to-width ratio of 24:1.
As luxury real estate continues to push architectural boundaries, Senna Tower promises not just unmatched height but a tribute to Brazil’s most beloved sports icon — a towering symbol of ambition, innovation, and legacy.
