Fans eager to secure tickets for Coldplay’s highly anticipated Mumbai concerts faced disappointment today when the ticketing site BookMyShow crashed just seconds before sales were set to begin. The iconic British rock band is scheduled to perform at D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium on January 18 and 19, 2025, marking their return to India after an eight-year hiatus.
The announcement of Coldplay’s “Music Of The Spheres World Tour” concert has sparked immense excitement among fans, with promoters promising an “extraordinary experience.” The tour, which began in March 2022, has already sold over 10 million tickets worldwide and includes upcoming shows in Abu Dhabi, Seoul, and Hong Kong.
Adding to the anticipation, Coldplay’s new album, “Moon Music,” is set to release on October 4, 2024. The album aims to establish new sustainability standards in the music industry, featuring vinyl records made from 100% recycled plastic. Lead vocalist Chris Martin emphasized the album’s hopeful message, stating, “Maybe love is the best response” to the conflicts faced globally.
This will be Coldplay’s second performance in India, following their appearance at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai in 2016. The band, formed in 1997, includes members Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion. They are known for their chart-topping hits such as “A Sky Full of Stars,” “Don’t Panic,” “Viva La Vida,” and “In My Place.”
