Air India Halts Tel Aviv Flights Due to Intensifying Middle East Conflict

Air India Suspends Tel Aviv Flights Amid Middle East Tensions

Air India has announced the suspension of all flights to and from Tel Aviv, Israel, effective immediately until August 8, 2024, due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. The airline’s decision comes as part of precautionary measures in light of the ongoing conflict in the region.

“In view of the ongoing situation in parts of the Middle East, we have suspended scheduled operations of our flights to and from Tel Aviv with immediate effect up to and including 8 August, 2024,” Air India stated. The airline emphasized that passenger safety remains its top priority and is offering a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges for those with confirmed bookings.

The suspension follows the cancellation of a scheduled flight from New Delhi to Tel Aviv on Thursday evening, citing operational reasons. The conflict between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas has intensified, leading to widespread violence and significant casualties. The situation has further deteriorated with recent attacks, including a bombing in Tehran that killed Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh. Iran has accused Israel of the assassination, increasing tensions in the region.

Air India is continuously monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary. Passengers affected by the flight suspension are advised to contact the airline for assistance with their travel plans.
